Mr. Benedict Anderson Awarded the First Asia Cosmopolitan Award
Asia Cosmopolitan Awards commemorating the 1300-year anniversary of Heijyo-kyo (an ancient capital of Japan) has chosen Mr. Benedict Anderson to be one of the first Asian Cosmopolitan Awardees.
Asia Cosmopolitan Awards is an international award organized by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and is given to individuals or organizations who have made substantial contributions to the development and enrichment of the East Asian Community in the field of cultural and economic integration.
As a leading scholar of Southeast Asian studies, Mr. Benedict Anderson’s work on Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesian studies is given high appraisal from the international community.
