Professor Augustin BERQUE Receives Japan Foundation Award
Professor Augustin BERQUE, a winner of the 2009 Fukuoka Grand Prize, has received the Japan Foundation Award for Japanese Studies and Intellectual Exchange.
The Japan Foundation Award is given to individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to international understanding through cultural activities in the field of arts and academia. Dr. Yoshiaki Ishizawa, a member of the Academic Prize Selection Committee was also awarded in the past.
His academic work was recognized to have made great contributions to cultural exchange between Japan and France, thereby making him worthy of the Japan Foundation Award for Japanese Studies and Intellectual Exchange.
