Dr. Vandana Shiva joins Kyoto's Earth Hall of Fame
The grand prize winner of the Fukuoka Prize 2012, Dr. Vandana Shiva has been inducted into the 4th Kyoto Earth Hall of Fame.
Named after Kyoto at which “Kyoto Protocol “ was given birth to, the Earth Hall of Fame Kyoto is an award to honor the achievements of those who have contributed to the conservation of the global environment.
In this occasion, an exhibition of her achievements was shown at the Kyoto International Conference Center, at which the 3rd Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP3) had taken place.
The event widely sends out message from Kyoto to the rest of the world that all people, regions and countries should be dedicated in solving the environmental problems that we face globally.
Dr. Shiva alarmed the Western perspective imposed upon environmental, agricultural and food issues and advocated the values and social structures rooted in traditions, as well as the conscience towards the environment, which is why she was chosen one of the inductees of the 4th Kyoto Earth Hall of Fame.
