AAS Award 2014 goes to Dr. Charnvit !


Dr. Charnvit KASETSIRI, last year’s Academic and Research Award laureate of the Fukuoka Prize, was honored the 2014 Association for Asian Studies (AAS) Award for Distinguished Contributions to Asian Studies.

The Association for Asian Studies is an American academic organization which was established in 1941 to promote communication and information exchanges amongst researchers of Asian Studies.  There are more than 8,000 memberships worldwide and is known to be the largest organization of its kind.

Past recipients of the AAS Award include Dr. Clifford GEERTZ and Dr. Benedict ANDERSON, also known as the laureates of the Fukuoka Prize.

Dr. Charnvit was awarded for his research achievement, together with his contributions in network-building for the young generation.
