Nalini Malani and Cai Guo-Qiang, the Arts and Culture Prize laureates for 2013 and 2009 respectively, were named "2016 Asia Arts Game Changers".

The "Asia Arts Game Changers" hosted by the Asia Society honors artists and arts professionals for their significant contributions to contemporary art.

Past honorees include 2003 Arts and Culture Prize laureate Xu Bing, and Takashi Murakami.

Asia Society Vice President for Global Arts & Cultural Programs Boon Hui Tan lauded their work as "touching our souls".

The celebration took place at the Asia Arts Awards, a kickoff event of the Art Basel Hong Kong 2016.

"It gives me more faith in what I do, knowing that I can continue to 'mess around' boundlessly" said Cai Guo-Qiang at the ceremony.
While Nalini Malani asked the audience to take a minute of silence for refugees across the globe.
