Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Grand Prize Laureate of Fukuoka Prize 2001, is a founder of the Grameen Bank and a leading practical economist who challenged the modern issues of development and the eradication of poverty. He was awarded the King Charles III Harmony Award of The King’s Foundation Awards 2025.

The King’s Foundation, first formed in 1990, is a charity founded by King Charles III as Prince of Wales – inspired by His Majesty’s philosophy of Harmony. Cutting across a range of sectors, disciplines and levels, The King’s Foundation represents areas including in education and sustainability, farming and agriculture, traditional arts and crafts, health and wellbeing, and architecture and urbanism.
They provide education, public services and consultancy across these sectors around the world.

The King Charles III Harmony Award is awarded to an individual to recognize long-term outstanding commitment to, and support for, His Majesty’s Harmony philosophy – which looks to prioritise sustainability and nature across all sectors. Professor Yunus has spent his life promoting social business principles and encouraging sustainable, socially responsible projects, having a significant impact on poverty alleviation in Bangladesh and beyond.
