Mr. Zhang Yimou, Grand Prize laureate of Fukuoka Prize 2002, who is one of Asia's most renowned film directors and is a recognized master in international cinema. Mr. Zhang will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award which is given to an individual who has contributed to the film industry throughout his or her life and has made a significant impact on Asian cinema.

The award is organized by the Asia Film Award Academy (AFAA) and is recognized as the highest honor in the AFAA. It is also announced that Mr. Zhang will receive 2023 Highest-Grossing Asian Film Award for ‘Full River Red’ at the ceremony.

Furthermore, he will receive a lifetime achievement award at Udine Far East Festival in Italy.
