Im Kwon-taek, the Arts and Culture prize laureate from 1997, who is also a celebrated film director of the Republic of Korea regarded as one of the greatest Asian film masters received The Lifetime Achievement Award at the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival 2025. His unrelenting contributions to the Asian film world was honored with the award. 

Born in 1936, the Director Im Kwon-teak is widely known as a pioneer in the field of contemporary Korean cinema. He has directed more than 100 works over his 60-year- long career. His legendary list of works is covered with impressive film works such as "Sopyonje"(1993), “Chunhyang”(2000). Especially his film, “Chihwaseon”(2002)has won the Best Director Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
